"If we don't understand each other, we will lose the election", says PL president
According to the president of the PL (Liberal Party), Valdemar da Costa Neto, if the disagreements between Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) and pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) do not cease, there will be chances of the party "losing the election" this year.
"We have to get this right. Because if we don't get this right, we're already going to lose at home", he said in an interview with Gaúcha Zero Hora on Thursday night (25).
According to the party president, it is important that the PL supports the candidacy of Ciro Gomes (PSDB) for the government of Ceará, despite the former first lady having publicly criticized the alliance.
"Ciro even fights with his brother, he fights with the whole family. (...) He attacks everyone, but he's the only one who has a chance of beating the PT. If we don't go with him, the governor of Ceará will be the PT. If we go with him, he'll win the election."
He also highlighted the importance of the former first lady in the party: "Michelle has a price for us that... What she did for PL Mulher in Brazil is priceless."
Valdemar's comments come after Michelle Bolsonaro published two videos on her social networks claiming to have received a "stab" from her stepson Flávio Bolsonaro.
In the videos. the former first lady exposed friction with her stepson and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic over the agreement involving former Minister of Finance Ciro Gomes (PSDB), pre-candidate for the government of Ceará.
"He was very harsh, disrespected me and mistreated me on the phone and I hadn't done anything against him. He said it would be better for me to stay out of the party's decisions. He said that I had arrived yesterday and didn't understand anything about politics. Faced with this humiliation, I told him that everything was fine. I understood that he didn't want my support or that it was insignificant and so I withdrew", said the former first lady.
