Hugo repeats text from the end of the 6×1 to press Planalto and unlock the Chamber

The president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), wants to approve the government's bill with basically the same text as the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) on the end of the 6x1 scale to put pressure on Planalto and unlock the voting agenda of the Chamber's plenary.

The assessment is that, due to the content itself, there would be no need for a project with the same content as that which has already been approved by federal deputies and sent to the Senate. However, because it was sent with constitutional urgency by the government to the Chamber, until it is voted on, the project has prevented other important analyzes in the House's plenary since the beginning of the month - which bothers Motta and other leaders.

In turn, despite conversations and requests, the government resists taking away the urgency of the project to keep it as a type of pressure on the Senate, which has not yet implemented the PEC.

In this way, the decision to vote on the project merely repeating the text of the PEC is seen by the Chamber's top leadership as a card for it to be approved soon and release the plenary agenda. The intention is for the text to be appreciated next week.

Even the project's rapporteur will be the same as the PEC: deputy Léo Prates (Republicanos-BA), whose team was taken by surprise by the decision.

Initially, the government's idea was to use the project for possible complements to the already approved PEC and to deal with specific categories, if necessary. The rapporteur has not yet said whether he will cover these and other points in his opinion on the project or whether he will just maintain the same aspects of the PEC, such as the reduction to 40 hours per week and a 5x2 scale without salary reduction.

If he manages to clear the agenda, Motta intends to focus on approving a project that regulates Artificial Intelligence and a proposal to readjust the revenue ceiling for MEIs (Individual Microentrepreneurs) by mid-July, before the parliamentary recess.
