Hugo: "Mario Frias will provide necessary clarifications to the STF"
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), told CNN Brasil this Tuesday (26) that deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP) will provide all the necessary clarifications to the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
"He is already in Brazil and will provide the necessary clarifications to the STF", he said.
Frias filed two requests with the board of directors: one referring to the trip to Bahrain, between the 12th and 18th of May, with a request for leave between the 11th and 19th of the same month; and another to the United States, where he was at the time of the investigation, between the 19th and 21st of May, with scheduled leave from the 18th to the 22nd.
In a post on social media, the parliamentarian stated that he was on an "official agenda with the knowledge of President Hugo Motta" and said he was willing to provide all clarifications directly to STF minister Flávio Dino upon returning to the country.
The Supreme Court has been trying for more than a month to subpoena Frias to provide clarifications on a R$2 million parliamentary amendment allocated to Instituto Saibar Brasil, an NGO linked to the production company Go Up Entertainment, owned by businesswoman Karina Ferreira da Gama.
To CNN Brasil, Hugo stated that he spoke with the parliamentarian while he was traveling:
"I spoke to Frias when he was traveling. When I became aware of the requests, he had already traveled. I neither authorized nor denied the trips. When he was in the United States, it was then that he notified me. And I looked up when his trip would take place", he added.
