In a statement, the company stated that the measure is part of a strategic decision to accelerate its expansion and concentrate resources in areas considered priorities for the future of the company and the so-called Creator Economy.
"This restructuring reflects a strategic decision to accelerate the company's expansion, concentrating resources and energy on the main fronts aligned with our vision of the future of the Creator Economy", informed the company.
Hotmart did not disclose the exact number of workers affected by the measure nor did it detail which areas were affected by the layoffs.
Hotmart is a technology company focused on the Creator Economy, which offers a platform for creators to sell and expand digital businesses. The company brings together more than 250,000 active entrepreneurs and around 1,600 employees, operating in six countries and headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Microsoft also announced layoffs
Microsoft announced this Monday (6) that it will lay off around 4,800 employees, equivalent to approximately 2.1% of its workforce.
The cuts will mainly affect the division responsible for the Xbox, wrote Amy Coleman, director of human resources at Microsoft, in an email to employees.
"We are aligning our investment, people and energy with our business priorities. Today's changes primarily impact our Commercial and Xbox organizations," he wrote.
Microsoft had about 220,000 employees before the cuts, according to the news portal Business Insider. It is not yet known whether the layoffs will affect employees in Brazil. g1 contacted the company, which only shared Amy Coleman's statement.
In the text, Coleman stated that the fired employees will not be replaced by artificial intelligence, but did not say whether the cuts are related to the company's investments in this technology. In recent months, several companies have announced layoffs to prioritize investments in AI.
"What is true is that AI is changing the way work is done. Some of the tasks we do daily can now be automated, and that means we all need to continue learning, developing new skills and adapting as work evolves," said the executive.
