Holidays at the cinema: see the main films to watch with your children
The school holidays are here and, for many families, this is the ideal time to create new memories with the children. Between outdoor trips, travel and activities at home, a trip to the cinema continues to be one of the favorite things to do to enjoy free time with the family.
The holiday season also tends to feature major premieres aimed at children and family audiences. New animations, live-action adaptations and productions full of adventure share space in movie theaters, offering options for children of different ages and also for parents who want to enjoy a good story alongside their children.
With that in mind, we've put together some of the main films showing during the school holidays to help you choose your next family outing.
"Toy Story 5"
In Toy Story 5, the cowgirl Jessie takes the lead in the story in an adventure that addresses a current topic: the influence of technology on children's routines. In the plot, Bonnie starts to dedicate much of her attention to Lilypad, a tablet that quickly becomes her favorite toy, leaving Woody, Buzz and the others aside.
After the events of Toy Story 4, Woody reappears in a supporting role to help his old companions face this new challenge and show that friendship and imagination continue to have a special place, even on screen.
The release also stood out at the box office. In its first weekend in theaters, Toy Story 5 recorded the biggest opening of 2026, grossing R$336.8 million and bringing more than 10 million spectators to cinemas in Latin America, also considering the preview sessions held on Wednesday. The numbers were released by Disney.
