Henry Rollins has finally revealed the mystery surrounding his secret project with Fugazi's Ian MacKaye. The partnership is linked to the release of Gravest Gravy, a lost album by The Cramps with unreleased recordings made in 1977.

The material was recorded at Ardent Studios, in Memphis, produced by Alex Chilton, and was archived for decades.

The original tapes were recovered by Larry Hardy, from In The Red Records, allowing Rollins and MacKaye to work on the selection, restoration and finalization of the album.

The album brings a raw and explosive phase of The Cramps, mixing rockabilly, garage rock and punk in its most visceral form.

Gravest Gravy will be released on August 21, 2026 by Midheaven.
