Henry Borel: Nanny says Monique asked to delete messages after death

Henry Borel's nanny, Thayná de Oliveira Ferreira, said this Sunday (31), during the seventh day of the boy's death trial, that she was instructed by Monique Medeiros to delete messages and omit information after the boy's death, which occurred in March 2021.

During the testimony, the witness also stated that he had witnessed situations that he considered suspicious involving Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, Dr. Jairinho, and Henry. According to her, in at least three episodes, Jairinho took the boy to a room, remained alone with him for some time and, afterwards, the child complained of pain.

The witness also reported that, in some of these episodes, there was a loud sound in the room or total silence in the room. According to Thayná's testimony, Henry would have had headaches after some of these situations and, when questioned, he would say that he had fallen out of bed or that he could not talk about what happened. On one occasion, he explained that, after the period he spent in the closed room with Jairinho, Henry came out limping.

Also according to Thayná, all these situations were communicated to Monique, through messages, calls or face-to-face conversations and that Monique found out from Henry himself who, on one occasion, said in a video call that his "uncle" (referring to Jairinho) had hit him.

The nanny stated that she also suggested installing cameras in the property and even appointed a professional to carry out the service, but that Monique ignored the request.

Request to delete messages
To CNN Brasil, Thayná's lawyer, Juliana Nascimento, added that after the boy's death, the nanny and maid were called to a law firm, where she was coerced by Monique to lie. According to Juliana, the boy's mother told Thayná to delete the messages and say that the "family lived in harmony".

The nanny's defense stated that the client did not completely delete the messages and that, before deleting part of the content, she took screenshots of the conversations. The material was later recovered during the investigation.

After the statement, the defense added that the client feels relieved. "Today, Thayná recanted and is feeling relieved to say everything she knows." The trial continues at the Rio de Janeiro Jury Court. Monique Medeiros and Dr. Jairinho face triple homicide, torture and procedural fraud.

The trial is presided over by judge Elizabeth Machado Louro and should last up to ten days
