Henry Borel: MP counters Monique's arguments; see what the accusation says

At the II Rio de Janeiro Jury Court, the Public Prosecutor's Office presented arguments to refute Monique Medeiros' defense thesis, this Wednesday (3), during the tenth day of the Henry Borel case trial.

The prosecution maintains that the defendant was aware of the attacks suffered by her son, Henry Borel, and chose to omit it to preserve the relationship with Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, Dr. Jairinho.

Contradictions and technical evidence
The prosecution highlighted messages from nanny Thayná Ferreira that warned Monique about the violence in the couple's apartment, located in Barra da Tijuca, in the southwest zone of Rio.

According to investigations, Monique remained in a beauty salon for hours after receiving warnings about the imminent risk to the boy.

The Public Prosecutor's Office also refutes the argument of an abusive relationship, claiming that the defendant's professional experience as a school director and her family support network would allow her to perceive reality and stop the attacks.

It was highlighted that she had a family and family support, and was not a financially or socially helpless person. The prosecutor stated that, in cases of abuse, economic dependence or children in common usually hold the relationship together, which did not happen, as the relationship with Jairinho lasted only a few months.

The prosecutor stated that Monique "ignored all the screams" from Henry, who expressed fear and aggression.

Progress of the case
The trial, presided over by judge Elizabeth Machado Louro, is based on the IML report, which identified 23 injuries on the child's body.

If the sentencing council decides to sentence the defendant to a sentence of more than 15 years, the Court may order the defendants to be immediately imprisoned.
