Henry Borel: Jairinho's ex-girlfriend reports episodes of violence by the defendant
The II Rio de Janeiro Jury Court heard, this Thursday (28), the testimony of an ex-girlfriend of Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, Dr. Jairinho. Debora Saraiva reported having suffered domestic violence, sexual abuse and stalking.
She also said that the former councilor had attacked her son. "He was going to touch me where it hurt the most," said the witness. Debora says she feels fear and anger towards her ex-partner.
The session marks the fourth day of the trial over the death of Henry Borel, which occurred in March 2021.
Details of the defendant's testimony and behavior
According to Debora, they met in 2014, when she was a parliamentary advisor to a councilwoman. The couple went back and forth, and in total they stayed together for six years.
After the breakup, Débora said that she kept in touch with him until 2021, and that she even chatted a few times via message with Monique. She would have warned Henry's mother about the attacks she suffered and that could happen to her too.
In her statement, Jairo's ex-girlfriend reported being drugged and abused by him. The former councilor allegedly forced sexual intercourse on her when she was unconscious.
While she was drugged, he allegedly left his children, a girl and a boy, playing alone on the building's balcony, which had no protection - according to his testimony.
In her testimony, Débora spoke of an outbreak of jealousy, followed by aggression against her, at Mangaratiba's house. Jairo allegedly asked to see her cell phone, and when she didn't let him, he took her out of the house, dragged her and bit her head three times.

Regarding attacks against her children, she stated that the former councilor attacked her boy, but not her daughter. Débora discovered the violations after Henry's death, on the day her son saw a photo of them in the newspaper and told her what happened to him.
Amidst a lot of crying, she said that he explained more about the attacks during a consultation with a psychiatrist, but afterwards he was unable to speak any more. She also added that her son's testimony matches the history of violence that Henry suffered.
Débora also reported an episode of aggression against Henry, in which her daughter was with her. She claims to have seen nothing, that she had been drugged.
On this day, Jairo would have put paper and cloth in the mouth and stepped on the boy's belly, just two years old.
On the day of Henry's death, Jairo would have sent a message, at 1 am, to Debora, saying "for the love of God". She didn't understand the meaning of the message, but says that, around 11:30 am, he spoke to her again, starting a random conversation - without commenting on the boy's death.
Débora only found out that Henry had died after it was reported in the press. Soon after, she was called to testify at the police station.

Remember the case
At just 4 years old, Henry Borel was killed on March 8, 2021. The IML (Legal Medical Institute) report identified 23 injuries on the child's body, ruling out the hypothesis of a domestic accident maintained by the defendants at the time.
Monique Medeiros is responsible for triple homicide (by omission), torture, coercion during the process, procedural fraud and ideological falsehood. She has remained in prison since April 2025, after the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Gilmar Mendes ordered her preventive detention again.
Dr. Jairinho remains imprisoned in the Gericinó Complex, accused of being the perpetrator of the attacks.
