Henry Borel: Jairinho admits "cheating" on boy during "games"

During interrogation in the trial of Henry Borel's death, this Tuesday (2), former councilor Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, Dr. Jairinho, stated that he had already "cheated" on Henry during games.

The expression refers to an action similar to a sweep. He said he did this holding the boy by the arm and stated that Monique Medeiros' family members witnessed the situations.

"I already played with Henry," he declared. The defendant also stated that he also played in the same way with his own son and denied that the situations occurred in secret.

"It wasn't hidden," he said. During his testimony, Jairinho also stated that he was rarely alone with Henry. "I never even took Henry to buy a candy alone," he said.

According to him, the only day he remembers staying with Henry without Monique was when the nanny and maid were also present.

Crying during trial
Jairinho cried when looking at a photo of his nephew Theo, his sister's son, with ASD (Autistic Expectancy Disorder). During the beginning of the testimony, he spoke about his relationship with the boy and stated that the two are very attached.

The questions are being led by a lawyer from the defendant's defense team. Monique Medeiros is not present in the plenary during Jairinho's interrogation.

Monique blames Jairinho and cites a routine of jealousy and control
Throughout the interrogation, Monique Mederios stated that Jairinho's behavior gradually changed and that, initially, she interpreted certain attitudes as demonstrations of care. She reported episodes of jealousy, control and violence during the relationship.

According to her, the two met in August 2020, through Instagram, and began dating after the election period that year.

Monique stated that the control began when Jairinho requested access to his location in real time. According to the report, she believed it was a show of concern. Over time, according to the defendant, the then councilor began to control friendships, clothes and publications on social media.

"He didn't like me talking to men or publishing bikini photos", he said. According to Monique, Jairinho said that, as he was a "politically exposed" man, she needed to change the way she dressed.

The defendant also stated that she came to believe that the former councilor had tapped her phone, because he seemed to know details about her routine, the places she frequented and even the clothes she wore.
