Helicopters collide in mid-air in Rio and 6 die: see international repercussions

Six people died after the collision and crash of 2 helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14). The international press covered the accident.
Among the dead were the American singer Oliver Tree and the Argentine YouTuber Gaspi, both with at least 2 million followers.
DJ and producer Lucas Frota is also among the six victims.

The Fire Department was called at 8:59 am to the incident. According to witnesses, the aircraft collided in the air and fell into a yard full of cars parked in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone.
The land belonged to an abandoned church and had been rented by the car manufacturer BYD. The space occupies the block of Avenida das Américas with the streets Beth Lago and Rivadávia Campos.

The accident
Six people died in the crash of 2 helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14).
According to witnesses, the PP-MAC aircraft and PR-DJJ collided in the air.
According to Major Fábio Contreras, spokesman for the RJ Fire Department, no one on board survived. Residents recorded the accident on several videos.
The Fire Department was called at 8:59 am to the incident. The aircraft crashed into the land of an abandoned church that had been rented by BYD, in the block of Avenida das Américas and Beth Lago and Rivadávia Campos streets.
One of the helicopters exploded upon hitting the ground, and the flames spread to the electric vehicles, which caused more explosions. The column of smoke could be seen from kilometers away.
The other did not catch fire and fell with its landing gear in the air.
