Left-back Hugo Farias is expected to begin the physical transition period at Corinthians during the team's off-season, which currently has no games on the calendar due to the break for the World Cup, which will take place between June 11 and July 19 in the United States, Mexico and Canada. At the moment, the Corinthian cast is on vacation and will perform again at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on June 25th, according to ge.globo.
Shirt number 46 has not played since February 5th, when he suffered an injury to the lateral meniscus of his right knee in Corinthians' 3-0 victory over Capivariano at Neo Química Arena, in the sixth round of the classification phase of the Campeonato Paulista. That day, he was replaced by Matheus Bidu in the final stretch of the first stage. This year, he has only three games - RB Bragantino (F), Velo Clube (F) and Capivariano (C), all in the state - (all starting as a starter) and 194 minutes on the field.

On February 11th, he underwent the surgical procedure and, since then, he has been carrying out physiotherapy work with the Corinthians football department and, during these holidays, with a hired private professional. In this way, he is one of the only ones in the current squad who has not yet played since the arrival of Fernando Diniz, who arrived at the club to replace Dorival Júnior in the first week of April.
Currently, Corinthians has two options available for the sector: Matheus Bidu and Fabrizio Angileri, being the first absolute starter. Hugo Farias was hired by Corinthians in the final stretch of 2023, after a spell at Goiás. In total, there are 75 games with the Corinthians shirt (62 as a starter), with 32 wins, 20 draws and 23 defeats - 51.56% success rate. In addition, there are six assists and three titles won: Campeonato Paulista (2025), Copa do Brasil (2025) and Supercopa do Brasil (2026).
Corinthians will officially return to the pitch the week of July 22nd, to face Remo, at the Neo Química Arena, in the last round of the first round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. The CBF has not yet defined the dates and times of the match, something that should happen soon. On July 12th, Timão should play a friendly against FC Cascavel, from Paraná, on Paraná soil.
