The Haval H9 surpassed sales of the Toyota SW4 for the second time this year. According to May's registration numbers, H9 registered 1,220 cars, while SW4 had 1,187 registrations.

Despite the result of 33 more cars for the Chinese SUV, the SW4 is still the leader, to date, in the annual sales count. The Toyota SW4 has 5,661 registered cars, compared to 4,866 for the Haval H9.

The two seven-seater SUVs are in a great rivalry in the segment. The SW4 customer is more traditional and loyal to the Japanese brand.

Recently, the Haval H9 got an update and became a little more expensive in the 2027 line. The Haval H9 now features a front grille with a matte black finish. The update aims to increase the SUV's competitiveness against its competitors, mainly against the SW4.
