Gusttavo Lima cancels show due to intoxication and irritates mayor: "Thief"

Singer Gusttavo Lima, 36, canceled, for the second time, a show he would perform in the city of Surubim, in Pernambuco, on Saturday (27). According to a statement published by the artist, he had suffered food poisoning.

"Guys from Surubim, I'm so sorry for not being at today's show. Food poisoning. In other words, shit. I'm having absurd diarrhea, weak, in a cold sweat", wrote Gusttavo Lima in Instagram stories. "Forgive me! Wait for me for a new date. It will work out, I trust God's plans a lot and everything has a reason, because I believe in him!"

Despite the explanation, the mayor of Surubim, Cleber Chaparral (UB), was unhappy with the cancellation and took to the event stage to criticize the singer, calling him a "thief".

"Anyone who knows me knows about my courage, knows about the person in front, how I deal with things, how I respect the people, how I like things 'black and white'", declared the mayor when announcing the cancellation of Gusttavo Lima's presentation. "The city hall hired him, paid him, he signed a contract. We paid him, he received it, he was one of the first to receive it. And now he gives news saying that he will not come to perform in our city", he adds.

Next, Cleber states that Gusttavo Lima is "lacking respect" to the people of Surubim. "What was it for, Gusttavo Lima, that you received a million and a half [of reais] from the City of Surubim, which is in your account? You are a thief! You are a thief of conscience. I don't know a song by Gusttavo Lima. I'm not a fan of his. I brought him here because the people asked for it", he adds.

"Gusttavo, if you're a man, just take it and return the money from Surubim City Hall, which you don't need. You don't need money from City Hall", he says. "Your truck and equipment that are there will not leave Surubim until you return it", he concludes.
