The Board of Directors of Embrapa (Consad) swore in, on Friday (29), the agronomist and rural producer Guilherme Coelho as the new president of the board.

Coelho replaces Carlos Ernesto Augustin, known as "Teti", who had held the presidency of Consad since 2023.

Coelho's appointment as president of the Board of Directors (Consad) was made by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula.

Guilherme Coelho presided over Abrafrutas (Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruit and Derivatives), between 2020 and 2026. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, his activities were related to initiatives aimed at Brazilian fruit growing and the expansion of the sector's presence in international markets.

Upon taking office, Coelho stated that he was pleased to receive the invitation to assume the presidency of Consad. After the ceremony, Guilherme Coelho led his first meeting at the head of the Board of Directors. The president of Embrapa, Silvia Massruhá, and the other advisors participated in the meeting.
