Gui Negão remembers his first moment as a professional athlete for Corinthians

On Tuesday afternoon (16), 19-year-old striker Gui Negão used his social networks to remember a special moment as a professional athlete for Corinthians. On this exact day, two years ago, the young man was listed and was present on the Timão bench for the first time with the main team.
On June 16, 2024, the center forward, revealed in the Corinthians base, was on the bench during the 2 x 2 draw, against São Paulo, at Neo Química Arena, in the first round of that year's Brazilian Championship. On that occasion, the Corinthians goals were scored by midfielder Igor Coronado and striker Gustavo Silva, who are no longer at the club. In the post, he recalled: "My first related game and my first classic. A date that will be marked in my life."

His debut as a professional for Corinthians came almost a year later: June 1, 2025, when Alvinegro drew goalless with Vitória, at Neo Química Arena, in the first round of the last Brasileirão. That day, it was called by Timão's then coach, Dorival Júnior, in the final moments of the match.
At the time, Alvinegro was punished with a FIFA transfer ban, that is, prohibited from registering signings, in addition to injuries to Yuri Alberto and Memphis Depay, having to resort to using athletes revealed in the youth categories. Initially, the young man had a standout performance, being decisive for Corinthians in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil, against Athletico-PR, playing an important tactical role and being useful for the team also in matches for the Brazilian Championship.
However, in the final stretch of 2025, its performance fell and became less used. In 2026, for example, there are 12 games and one goal scored. He recently recovered from a grade 2 muscle injury in his thigh and has not been on the field since the final stretch of March. The lack of space means that, according to information from Central do Timão, the athlete is considering leaving the club in the July transfer window.
In relation to general numbers, Gui Negão has six goals and two assists in 36 matches for Timão, with 16 wins, four draws and 14 defeats - 50% success rate. In addition, there are two titles won: Copa do Brasil (2025) and Supercopa do Brasil (2026), against Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, respectively.
His contract ends in June 2030, with a national fine of R$140 million and an international fine set at 100 million euros (approximately R$600 million at current prices). For Corinthians' Under-17s and 20s, 24 goals were scored in 99 matches - 55 wins, 29 draws and 25 defeats. At base, his most significant title was the 2023 Paulistão Sub-17, against São Paulo, in a team that had names like Luiz Gustavo Bahia, André Luiz and Dieguinho - the latter two are with Gui in the professional team.
