Guardiola reveals biggest regret about his time at Manchester City

Coach Pep Guardiola said his biggest regret about his time at Manchester City was not giving goalkeeper Joe Hart another chance.

Guardiola will leave command of the club after the final round of the Premier League, this Sunday, against Aston Villa.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the coach acknowledged that he made many decisions throughout his career, and that some of them were wrong.

"There is a regret I have had for many years: I didn't give Joe Hart an opportunity to show what a great goalkeeper he was," said Guardiola. "I could have said, 'Joe, let's try it together. If it doesn't work, we'll change it later'. But it happened the way it happened."

The Spaniard took over City in 2016 and, upon his arrival, decided to loan Hart to Torino. Afterwards, the goalkeeper also played on loan at West Ham before leaving the club permanently for Burnley in 2018.

Hart played 348 games for Manchester City over 12 seasons. He later played for Tottenham before ending his career at Celtic.

During his time at City, Guardiola won six Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League and a Club World Cup.

The coach also stated that dealing with human emotions has always been the most difficult part of the profession.

"If I failed in this, I apologize. But it was never my intention, nor the club's intention", declared the 55-year-old Spaniard.
