Group reveals climate and environment proposal to presidential candidates
A document that brings together measures to subsidize government programs and presidential candidacies, to put the economy of land use on the electoral agenda will be published on Wednesday (17).
The Brazil Coalition's Proposals to candidates for the 2026 elections organizes its document into three axes, based on the premise that Brazil needs to combat illegality, expand legal security and modernize its productive and financial instruments to transform environmental assets into economic opportunities.
The first axis aims to guarantee the necessary conditions to increase legal security, reduce risks and strengthen the country's competitiveness.
In this topic, it is proposed to combat illegal deforestation and environmental crimes, accelerate the implementation of the Forest Code, validate the CAR (Rural Environmental Registry), advance the PRA (Environmental Regularization Programs) and the decoration and demarcation of indigenous lands.
The second axis presents proposals to increase productivity, climate resilience and sustainability of Brazilian agriculture. Its priority is to implement socio-environmental traceability at scale.
In addition, the modernization of rural financing and the expansion of direct planting, crop-livestock-forest integration, recovery of degraded pastures and low-carbon emission technologies are suggested.

The third axis is aimed at consolidating economic instruments to remunerate those who conserve, recover and use natural resources in a sustainable manner. This strategy seeks to attribute economic value to native vegetation and create new income opportunities for rural producers, traditional communities, indigenous peoples, family farmers and companies.
According to the group organizing the documentation, the Coalizão Brasil Clima, Florestas e Agricultura, the proposals will be delivered in the coming months to campaign coordinators and representatives of political parties.
Coalizão Brasil co-facilitator, Karen Oliveira, sees that "Brazil has the opportunity to transform its natural advantage into a state development strategy."

The Coalition organization, which defends issues of legal security, implementation of the Forest Code, recovery and restoration of degraded areas and other environmental policy factors, points out that Brazil has unique conditions capable of leading a low-carbon economy model, based on the sustainable use of resources.
This is because it has the largest tropical forest in the world, one of the greatest biodiversity on the planet and productive agriculture.
