Grêmio confirms departure of midfielder Arthur

On Tuesday afternoon (16), Grêmio confirmed Arthur's departure with an eye on the season. In an official statement, the Tricolor club reported that it had not reached an agreement to renew the 29-year-old player's contract.

Arthur is on loan to Grêmio from Juventus, in Italy, and the contract ends on June 30th. After long conversations, the parties were unable to reach a financial agreement and the steering wheel will return to Europe.

"Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense informs that midfielder Arthur will not have his contract extended after the end of the contractual loan period with Juventus-ITA, ending on June 30, 2026", wrote the club.

"In view of the expression of interest in the athlete's stay, the Club formalized a proposal for a new employment contract. There was no financial agreement between the parties involved, despite the mutual intention of continuing his career at the Arena. Grêmio thanks the athlete for the services provided and wishes him success in his sporting career", concluded Grêmio.

In the current season, Arthur played 23 games with the Grêmio shirt and scored just one goal. In two spells at Imortal, he played 106 games and won the Libertadores, in 2017, and the Campeonato Gaúcho twice, in 2018 and 2026.
