PCC and Red Command are classified as terrorist organizations by the USA | H TIME

Today, the U.S. Department of State designates CV (Red Command) and CCP (First Capital Command) as Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organizations (SDGTs) and intends to designate them as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs), effective June 5, 2026.

The CV and the PCC are two of the most violent criminal organizations in Brazil. Together, they command thousands of members and orchestrated brutal attacks against police officers, public authorities and Brazilian civilians. Its influence and illicit networks extend far beyond Brazil's borders, throughout our region and into our country.

The Trump administration will continue to use every tool available to protect our nation and our national security interests by keeping illicit drugs off our streets and stopping the flow of resources that fund violent narco-terrorists. The action taken today by the State Department further demonstrates the Trump administration's unwavering commitment to dismantling cartels and criminal organizations in our region and ensuring the safety of the American people.

The actions taken today are in compliance with Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224. Foreign Transportation Organization (FTO) designations are effective upon publication in the Federal Register.
