Five new categories arrive to reflect the global diversity of today's music: Best Latin Music (works with at least 51% of the lyrics in Spanish); Best Asian Pop Music Performance (K-pop, J-pop, C-pop); Best Collaboration or Performance by an R&B Duo/Group; Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance; Best Traditional Folk Music Album. Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Academy, explained that the changes follow the evolution of the industry and celebrate the diversity of genres, techniques and creators.
