Government says it continues to assess export tax

The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated that the government continues to evaluate the validity of the export tax, created in March to compensate for fuel subsidies, as a result of the conflict in the Middle East.

The speech took place this Tuesday (30), at a press conference announcing the gradual withdrawal of fuel subsidies and subsidies granted by the government in recent months.

The minister recalled that the term of the MP (Provisional Measure) that implemented the export tax ends in mid-July, and that the government continues to monitor it in case of no renewal, or to have a "gradual renewal depending on the situation and the value of oil".

The government's revenue gain from the export tax was used for the government to grant tax incentives to producers and importers of diesel and gasoline.

The government's measures were taken to avoid a significant and immediate increase in fuel prices in the domestic environment, which would negatively impact, for example, inflation and other chain prices.
