Government releases R$8 billion in extraordinary credit to airlines
The federal government published this Friday (19) Provisional Measure 1,368, which releases extraordinary credit of R$8 billion to support the airline sector in the face of rising fuel prices. The resources will be allocated to the FNAC (National Civil Aviation Fund) and will provide a reimbursable line for working capital for airlines operating in the country.
According to the government, the measure seeks to reduce the impacts of increased operating costs for companies, especially after the rise in aviation kerosene, which would have risen by more than 70% in a short period. The pressure on prices is attributed to the international rise in oil prices, aggravated by tensions in the Middle East and instability in the Strait of Hormuz.
