Glenn Close and Ridley Scott, who have never won an Oscar, will receive honorary awards

Glenn Close and Ridley Scott, two cinema legends who have never won an Oscar, will receive honorary awards from the United States Film Academy. the announcement was made by the organization this Wednesday (10).
The 79-year-old American actress, known for works such as "Fatal Attraction" (1987) and "101 Dalmatians" (1996), was nominated eight times. The most recent of these was in a supporting role in "Once Upon a Dream" (2021).
The 88-year-old British filmmaker, director of classics such as "Thelma & Louise" (1991) and "Gladiator" (2000), competed four times. In the last of them, he was among the producers of "The Martian" (2015), nominated for best film (he also directed the work).
In addition to the duo, the Academy will also honor with an award Disney's first animator, Floyd Norman, who participated in the development of classic animations by the studio, such as "Sleeping Beauty" (1959) and "Robin Hood" (1973).
The ceremony takes place on November 15, in Los Angeles.
