German pilot and researcher die in plane crash in Campo Grande (MS)

A plane crashed this Friday morning (3), near the Santa Maria Aerodrome, in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul.

According to Sejusp (Secretariat of State for Justice and Public Security of Mato Grosso do Sul), the accident left two people dead: German researcher Lydia Theresia Möcklinghoff and the aircraft pilot, Henrique Martin de Carvalho.

According to the secretariat, teams were called to respond to the incident at the location, an area considered difficult to access. So far, no information has been released regarding what caused the accident.

The Civil Police were in the area of the accident and, according to Sejusp, due to the complexity of the incident, the investigation will be conducted by Dracco (Department for the Repression of Corruption and Organized Crime), which is also monitoring the work on site.

Forensics were called to the area of the accident and the technical reports should help in investigating the case, which will also be investigated by Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center).
