Gemini gains exclusive features for the World Cup; understand

Google presented this Wednesday (10), during the Google for Brazil 2026 event, a series of updates to its AI (Artificial Intelligence), Gemini, aimed at the World Cup. Special features include the video recreation of a historic goal by Pelé, a partnership with the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), and the arrival of TacticAI in the country to assist tactical analysis of professional teams.

The initiative is part of the company's campaign to expand the use of Gemini among fans and also behind the scenes at the football world cup. Technologies such as Google Cloud and Google DeepMind are also in the campaign's sights during the event.

For the public, one of the main new features is the arrival of pre-defined cards for generating images inspired by the universe of the Brazilian National Team, facilitating the creation of thematic content and a shortcut for generating images.

The recreation of Pelé's goal on August 2, 1959, during a match between Santos and Juventus, in São Paulo, considered by the King to be the most beautiful of his career, is another feature of the AI, which was able to recreate the scenario never before recorded by cameras.

The news is the result of a two-year partnership with the CBF, which aims to create a unified data platform capable of centralizing information on performance statistics, medical and technical reports and tactical observations of the Brazilian men's and women's teams. Google Cloud infrastructure and Gemini resources will be used to process large volumes of data and produce accessible reports for technical committees.

According to Google's presentation at the event, the company estimates that around 70% of the work of technical committees is related to data compilation and that tools can optimize this task. The expectation is to automate part of this process, allowing professionals to focus more on deciding tasks and managing teams.

The news is not restricted to AI: Google Search will receive specific features for the 2026 World Cup, including live scores, lineups, tables, social media content and interactive graphics powered by artificial intelligence. Users will be able to follow matches in real time and even view advanced statistics.
