Narrator Galvão Bueno explained why he turned down an offer to work at CazéTV. The statements were made by the communicator during his participation in the Charla Podcast.

The proposal made by the streaming channel involved narrating Flamengo's games in the 2022 Club World Cup, played in February 2023.

"They invited, they made an invitation. After 43 years at Globo, it ended there, and then I have a two-year non-compete contract. The contract said I couldn't broadcast on open TV", declared Galvão, who left Globo after the 2022 World Cup.

"CazéTV made me the proposal and I didn't think it was right in terms of Globo, because Globo and Cazé were going to do (the same game). I still had a contract in force with Globo. I wasn't going to do free-to-air TV, but I was going to do a competition. I didn't think it was right", he concluded.

In 2023, already outside Globo, Galvão Bueno narrated the Brazilian team's 2-1 defeat to Morocco, in a game held in the Moroccan city of Tangier.

The work was carried out following a partnership between the communicator and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The game was broadcast on its YouTube page, Canal GB.

Currently, Galvão is the main voice of SBT and N Sports at the 2026 World Cup, held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Farewell to narration
At 75 years old, Galvão has already announced that this World Cup will be his farewell as narrator, ruling out any participation in the 2030 edition.

"Next time, age won't allow it. It won't be possible, right? I'm going to watch the World Cup. If I work, it will be presenting a program, recording a daily commentary, something like that", he said in an interview with Folha de S.Paulo.
