From makeup to tiles, Marilyn Monroe's personal items are up for auction; look

As part of the celebration of Marilyn Monroe's 100th birthday, which would be celebrated on Monday (1st), an auction house in California put 185 of the artist's personal items up for sale.

Icon of cinema and pop culture and perhaps owner of one of the most recognized faces in the world, Monroe died at the age of 36 from a drug overdose. She was found dead in her Los Angeles home in August 1962.

Personal items that she touched and used are in the collection, as well as pieces that were in the residence in the Brentwood neighborhood, where she was found dead. The auction is scheduled to take place on Thursday (4).

Anyone who wants to purchase a partially used pink lipstick or a pink blush with a disintegrated sponge will have to pay an additional R$35,000 and R$17,000, the current bids for the objects. An eye pencil, also from the 1950s, is on sale for R$6,000.

The star's clothes, such as an Emilio Pucci blouse in pink, black and gray with a boat neckline, and an ivory ball gown, can be purchased for R$35,000 and R$100,000, respectively.

Another item is a yellow L-shaped sofa, which Marilyn sat on for a few hours for a photo shoot just under two months before she died. The price? R$75,500. A tile in the bathroom of the house where she was found dead is advertised for at least R$11,000.

Dumbbells, kitchen utensils and even the gate to her last house are also available to be purchased on the website. Some of the other items are checkbooks, handwritten letters and autographed photographs.
