From actor to entrepreneur: he created a portable acoustic booth and earns R$15,000 per month
Portable acoustic booth becomes a business and serves a niche of voice professionals
What started as an improvised solution during the pandemic turned into a business for actor and sound engineer Diego Rodda, in São Paulo.
When he needed to record voiceovers outside of professional studios, he developed a portable acoustic booth - today sold to announcers, voice actors and musicians. The idea was born out of necessity.
With productions requiring remote recordings, Diego decided to create a compact structure that would guarantee sound quality indoors. In around 25 days, he developed the first model.
"I have always designed large cabins for studios, but I had never scaled down. I decided to study further and create a solution that was light and portable", he says.

With an initial investment of around R$4,000, the prototype evolved quickly. The first order came on the recommendation of a colleague - and was the turning point in transforming the idea into a business.
Today, the cabins are customized according to the environment and type of use, with prices starting at R$1,800. There are different models, from open versions to structures with greater acoustic insulation, as well as compact options for tables.
Diego concentrates all stages of the business: creates, manufactures, sells and serves customers. Promotion is mainly done through word of mouth, a strategy that has already resulted in the sale of 55 units in 2025 and average revenue of around R$15,000 per month.
"Today it's worth it financially. With each cabin, I think about how to reduce costs and make it easier for the customer", he says.
Portability is one of the main differentiators. The cabins can be assembled by a single person in a few minutes and transported easily, which expands their use in different environments.
With growing demand, the entrepreneur plans to expand the operation and hire employees. For him, business is a direct result of the need to create solutions. "Creativity comes from necessity. When you need it, you create", he says.
