"Friends" returns to the Netflix catalog after five years; find out more

Netflix announced that the 10 seasons of "Friends" will return to the streaming catalog this Thursday (2). The feat comes five years after the platform took the title off the air.

The announcement was made on Netflix's social media, which took some fans by surprise. "Shocked in Christ," commented one internet user. "I can't believe 'Friends' will be back in the catalogue, I'm happy again," wrote another. "My God, granddaughter! How perfect," added one user.

Other fans also took advantage of the space to ask for the inclusion of other famous titles, such as "Sex and the City", "That's 70's Show" and "Gilmore Girls", which recently left streaming.

The North American series "Friends" was first shown on September 22, 1994 and completed 30 years in 2024. In total, 236 episodes were shown in 10 seasons, which generated numerous nominations and achievements for the cast and production.

According to information from Warner Channel and Max, in addition to high critical approval, the series received 256 award nominations and, among these nominations, it took home 65 awards, including 6 Emmy awards - which is considered the biggest and most prestigious award given to television programs and professionals.

The show was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and launched in 1994, and its last episode aired on April 6, 2004. The main cast is made up of Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), David Schwimmer (Ross), Courteney Cox (Monica), Matt LeBlanc (Joey) and Matthew Perry (Chandler), who passed away in October last year.
