Former São Paulo duo wins the Argentine Championship with Belgrano

Belgrano won this Sunday (24) the first Argentine Championship in its history by beating River Plate, 3-2, at the Mario Kempes Stadium, in Córdoba. And Pirata, as the Cordoba club is known, had the help of a duo from São Paulo to win the title.

Midfielder Santiago Longo and attacking midfielder Emiliano Rigoni were starters in the final against the Millonarios and lifted the national champion cup.

Longo had a short spell at São Paulo between 2024 and 2025. Even before the end of his loan contract with Tricolor, the 26-year-old player asked for release to return to Pirata.

Rigoni had two spells at MorumBIS, both under the command of Hernán Crespo. The first was between 2021 and 2022, and the second in 2025.

The duo failed to establish themselves in São Paulo, and now they win the Argentine Championship with Belgrano, the club that revealed them both.

"My heart explodes", Rigoni posted on Instagram in a photo with the champion's medal.

This Monday (25), the Belgrano squad participated in a motorcade through Córdoba to celebrate winning the title.
