Former midfielder with historic experience at Corinthians is announced as new coach of the Série D team

At the end of this Monday afternoon (1), Danilo, a former midfielder who had a historic spell at Corinthians, was announced as the new coach of Uberlândia Esporte Clube, from Minas Gerais, which competes in Series D of the Brazilian Championship. He replaces Rogério Henrique, who was fired in the last few hours. Currently, the Minas Gerais team is leader of Group A11 of Series D, with five wins, three draws and one defeat - 12 goals scored and seven conceded.

This is his second experience as a professional football coach. At the beginning of the current season, Danilo led Pouso Alegre, which also competes in Série D, during the Campeonato Mineiro, in which the team was a semi-finalist, being eliminated by Cruzeiro. The commander, it is worth remembering, in addition to his career on the field, became part of Corinthians' youth teams.

In 2021, he was in charge of the extinct U23 category. At the beginning of the following year, he took over the U20 team, where he remained until June 2024. In command of Timão, he was champion of the 2024 São Paulo Junior Football Cup, in addition to being runner-up in the Brazilian and Paulista categories in 2022 and semi-finalist in the Brasileirão in 2023.

In command of the category, there were 69 wins, 20 draws and 25 defeats, effectively participating in the formation processes of names such as midfielders Gabriel Moscardo, Breno Bidon and striker Wesley. Wearing the Corinthians shirt on the field (2010-2018), he scored 35 goals and provided 36 assists in 359 games (211 as a starter), in addition to nine titles won: Brasileirão (2011, 2015 and 2017), Libertadores (2012), Club World Cup (2012), Recopa Sul-Americana (2013) and Campeonato Paulista (2013, 2017 and 2018).
