Former first lady of South Korea sentenced to another 7 years in prison for corruption

Brazilian is sentenced in South Korea for persecution and invasion of BTS singer's home
The South Korean court sentenced, this Friday (26), former first lady Kim Keon Hee to seven years in prison for accepting jewelry from Tiffany and Graff in exchange for favors in appointments to public positions.
Kim is the wife of former president Yoon Suk Yeol, who was sentenced to decades in prison for declaring failed martial law.

The 53-year-old woman is already serving a four-year sentence for stock market manipulation and corruption.
The court found her guilty of accepting "precious metals of great value" in exchange for favors in the appointment of several officials.
The former first lady would have received jewelry worth 103 million won (about 67 thousand dollars or 347 thousand reais) from a construction magnate in 2022 in exchange for a job for his son-in-law.

Among the jewelry she received from this businessman were a Van necklace Cleef, a Tiffany brooch and Graff earrings.
In addition to the jewelry, she also accepted a gold turtle valued at approximately US$1,700 (R$8,820) from a politician and a Vacheron Constantin watch valued at US$25,400 (R$131,790), allegedly gifted to her by a businessman specializing in "robot dogs".
Kim has always defended her innocence and argues that, although she received gifts, they were not given to her in exchange for favors.
