Former Corinthians, Canabarro announces retirement from futsal after career marked by titles

This Monday (15), winger Rodrigo Canabarro announced his retirement from professional futsal. The player communicated his decision on social media and thanked the clubs, professionals and teammates who were part of his journey.

Rodrigo's last club was Napoli in Italy, where he played in seven games, with three goals, five wins, one draw and one defeat. Canabarro had an outstanding spell at Corinthians Futsal. The player also recalled his experience abroad and wished success to Napoli Futsal, where he ended his career as a professional athlete.

Trajectory for Corinthians

The athlete arrived at the black and white club in 2022, and quickly became one of the references of the black and white squad. In his first season for Timão, the winger was an important player in winning the National Futsal League (LNF) and the Campeonato Paulista. During his time at the club, he played 95 official games and scored 33 goals with the Corinthians shirt.

Canabarro arrived at Corinthians at a time of reconstruction of black and white futsal and stood out for his experience and leadership within the group. After leaving the club in 2024, the athlete continued in Italian futsal before officially announcing his retirement.

For Timão, in addition to the titles he won, the winger was marked by his identification with the team and his participation in one of the most important campaigns in the recent history of Corinthian futsal.

Canabarro's professional career:

The player had his last professional contract with FF Napoli, from Italy, in the 2025/2026 season, ending a career that began in the 2000s. Throughout his career, Rodrigo Canabarro played for clubs in Brazil, Italy and Spain. The winger began his career at Umuarama, where he played between 2007 and 2012, before moving on to Italian futsal, where he defended Luparense and Pescara Calcio at 5 in the 2012/2013 season. In 2014, he returned to Brazil to play for Carlos Barbosa.

Later, he returned to Italian futsal to defend Acqua e Sapone in the 2016/2017 season and Feldi Eboli in 2020/2021. In Brazil, he also wore the shirts of Foz Cataratas Futsal (2017), Marreco Futsal (2019), Yeesco Futsal (2024) and Atlântico (2025).

Outside the country, the winger played for Levante, in Spain, in the 2018/2019 season, for Manfredonia Calcio a 5, in Italy, in 2021/2022, and ended his professional career at FF Napoli, also in Italy, in the 2025/2026 season.
