Former Air Canada pilot accused of flying with fake license for 17 years

A former Air Canada pilot was charged with flying for almost 17 years using falsified documents.

According to police in the region of Peel, in the province of Ontario, Canada, Geoffrey Wall, 59, had been flying since 2009 using fraudulent licensing documents to prove qualifications he did not possess.

Wall retired in 2025 after a 27-year career with the company. Of those years, the former pilot spent 16 acting as commander.

Regional police deputy chief Nick Milinovich said Wall had a license for certain airline operations, but was not qualified to transport passengers on commercial and international flights.

He would have flown large aircraft, including the Boeing 777, 767 and 787, transporting thousands of passengers over the years.

The investigation also accuses the former pilot of trying to hide falsified documents by registering a false police report. Among the charges, Wall faces fraud, use of false documents, false statements, providing false information to authorities and hindering investigations.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.
