Flávio turns to public security for a positive agenda and safe ground

The senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), decided to turn to the issue of public security in search of a positive agenda and a safe ground, in which he has more control and acceptance from his base, after the shocks caused by the request for money from Daniel Vorcaro, former Master banker, and by the new American tariff after visit to Donald Trump.

This Thursday (18), in São Paulo, Flávio will announce proposals for the area of public security, in a package called "Brazil without Fear", with a focus on "combating crime and terrorist factions". The expectation is that allies will also be present.

Historically, the right tends to have an advantage in speeches and proposals linked to public security, one of the themes that helped drive the rise of Bolsonarism in 2018.

The assessment of Flávio's allies is that security brings together characteristics considered strategic for this moment of the pre-campaign: it is a topic of great concern to the electorate, it allows trying to mark differences in relation to the Lula (PT) government and puts the senator back on an agenda associated with his political trajectory.

The movement comes after weeks of wear and tear and a drop in electoral polls.

The strategy now should be to focus on issues in which Bolsonarism traditionally considers it to have an advantage, reinforcing security in one of the main axes of the 2026 presidential contest.

The initiative also reinforces a discourse that Flávio has been adopting on a recurring basis, associating the advance of criminal factions with a threat to national security and advocating tougher measures to combat organized crime.

This week, to publicize the announcement of "Brazil without Fear" and generate expectations regarding the subject, Flávio's pre-campaign posted a video produced by artificial intelligence in which he pilots a military plane alongside his father and shoots at boats with identifications from the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and CV (Comando Vermelho). After that, a boat with the identification of PT, Lula's party, also appears in the video turning around.

Flávio has already highlighted public security, criticizing Lula's speeches on the topic, throughout this Wednesday (17). One of the points on which the pre-campaign seeks to capitalize is Trump's decision to classify criminal factions into terrorist organizations.
