Flávio asks the STF to declare Moraes a suspect to judge Vorcaro and Master
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, asked the STF (Supreme Federal Court) to declare minister Alexandre de Moraes a suspect for analyzing an application involving businessman Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master.
The petition was filed on Monday (1st) and targets a request presented by federal deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), which seeks to expand the scope of the investigation involving former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) to also include Flávio and Jair Bolsonaro in the investigation.
In his request, Lindbergh argues that there is evidence of a connection between Eduardo's international activities, the campaign for sanctions against Brazilian authorities and the negotiation of resources to finance the film "Dark Horse", inspired by the former president's political trajectory.
Flávio's lawyers argue that Moraes would not have the necessary impartiality to analyze issues related to Vorcaro and Banco Master. The defense cites the hiring of the minister's wife's law firm by the bank and messages attributed to the minister found on Vorcaro's cell phone.
According to the defense, these elements would be sufficient to compromise the impartiality required to conduct the case.
"In any case, what is pointed out here is that there is a contractual relationship established between Banco Master and the office of the wife of the Honorable Minister Alexandre de Moraes, a fact that establishes proximity between His Excellency, Banco Master and Daniel Vorcaro. This proximity can remove from the magistrate the equidistance he must maintain in relation to the parties", he says.
Flávio asks that Moraes be declared a suspect to analyze the request presented by Lindbergh and that the case be redistributed to Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of investigations involving Banco Master.
Moraes sent a letter to the PGR (Attorney General's Office) ordering the body to comment on the possible inclusion of Flávio and Jair Bolsonaro in the investigation.
