Flamengo and Palmeiras play the most anticipated game of the 17th round of the Brasileirão this Saturday (23), at 9pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The confrontation pits two of the tournament's main highlights face to face: top scorer Pedro, from the Rio side, and Andreas Pereira, main waiter and player for the São Paulo team.

A Rubro-Negro athlete since 2021, Pedro has already scored nine goals in 15 matches played in the Brazilian Championship. He is first placed in the artillery ranking, followed by Kevin Viveros, from Athletico-PR, and John Kennedy, from Fluminense, both with eight goals.

Andreas, in turn, is the competition's assists leader, with nine assists in 16 games played. Former Flamengo athlete and midfielder for the Alviverde club since last year, he is followed in the rankings by Rodrigo Garro (Corinthians) and Josué (Coritiba), who have six assists each.

At the moment, Palmeiras leads the Brasileirão with 35 points won, in a campaign of 10 wins, five draws and only one defeat. The Rio team occupies second place with 31 points, but with one less game played than its rival.

After the clash, Flamengo returns to the field for the Libertadores next Tuesday (26), at 9:30 pm, when they host Cusco at home. Next, Verdão will face Junior de Barranquilla on Thursday (28), at 7pm, also valid for the continental competition.
