Flamengo x Palmeiras: how many squads for the World Cup will be on the field?
Flamengo and Palmeiras face each other this Saturday (23), at 9pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro, in a game valid for the 17th round of the Brasileirão.
The duel will be marked by a confrontation between the leader and vice-leader, in addition to having possible players who will be part of the 2026 World Cup. At Flamengo Danilo, Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro and Lucas Paquetá are on the list of 26 chosen by Carlo Ancelotti to represent the Brazilian team.
Carrascal, Gonzalo Plata, De la Cruz, Varela and Arrascaeta are also names that could appear in the World Cup. The Colombian is on the pre-list, while Ecuador and Uruguay have not yet announced their squads.
At Palmeiras, Giay and Flaco López are on the pre-list for the Argentine national team. In addition to them, Arias, Gustavo Gómez, Ramón Sosa and Mauricio are on the lists of their respective teams.
Piquerez and Emiliano Martínez are names that could also appear in the World Cup and are awaiting the Uruguayan team's list.
How the teams arrive
Palmeiras comes from three consecutive draws in the Brazilian Championship, as well as a defeat to Cerro Porteño in the Libertadores, at home and resulted in the loss of the leadership of Group F.
Flamengo, in turn, guaranteed its early qualification for the round of 16 of the Libertadores, but was eliminated by Vitória in the fifth phase of the Copa do Brasil. In the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro has accumulated one victory and two draws in the last three games.
