Flamengo guarantees group leadership in Libertadores after W.O.
Flamengo secured first place in Group A of the Libertadores with one round to spare after Conmebol confirmed the W.O. in the match between Independiente Medellín and Flamengo in the fourth round this Thursday afternoon (21).
Now, in the clash against Cusco next Tuesday (26), the Rio club will only try to improve its overall campaign, which is important to decide the knockout games at home.
Understand the decision
In the "match" on May 5th, fans of the home club staged violent protests, using bombs, flares and lasers.
Hooded, the Colombian protesters tried to invade the lawn, throwing objects, steel sheets and chairs.
Before four minutes into the first half, the confrontation was interrupted. The teams were sent back to their dressing rooms and the stadium was evacuated before the match was cancelled.

Medellín
In addition to harming itself in the fight for a place in the round of 16 of the Libertadores, Conmebol punished the Colombians with five games behind closed doors as home team in South American competitions, two games without visiting fans when playing away from home, in addition to a fine of almost R$600,000.
