Jorge Carrascal, from Flamengo, was fined by the Rio club after his expulsion in the 3-0 defeat to Palmeiras, in the 17th round of the Brazilian Championship, last Saturday (23). The information was released by ge and confirmed by CNN Brasil.

The Colombian player received a red card in the 20th minute of the first half, after hitting defender Murilo with his leg during a ball dispute. This was the athlete's third expulsion of the season.

According to the club's advisors, the fine is automatically applied in cases of expulsion for an act considered harmful to the team - even if the arbitration decision is seen as "exaggerated".

With the defeat at Maracanã, Palmeiras reached 38 points and increased their advantage at the top of the Brasileirão. Flamengo remained in second place, with 31 points and one game less.
