Firefighters report at least 5 deaths after helicopter accident in RJ

The Rio de Janeiro Fire Department reported that there was an initial record of at least five fatalities after two helicopters crashed this Sunday morning (14), on Avenida das Américas, near Recreio dos Bandeirantes, West Zone of Rio.

According to the Military Fire Department, the corporation was called at 8:59 am to respond to the incident involving the crash of two aircraft, which had collided in the air.

Military personnel from the Recreio dos Bandeirantes Military Fire Detachment (DBM) were immediately transferred to the location, with support from specialized teams from the Air and Special Operations Group (GOEsp).
