Firefighters from Triângulo and Alto Paranaíba go to Venezuela to take part in a rescue mission after the earthquakes

Minas sends reinforcement of firefighters to act in the earthquake in Venezuela
Thirteen soldiers from the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) were mobilized to join the Brazilian task force providing humanitarian support to Venezuela, following the earthquakes that hit the country. The group includes firefighters from different regions of the state, with the participation of battalions from Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba.
Among those selected, two soldiers from the 8th Military Fire Brigade of Uberaba (Lieutenant Colonel Josias and Sgt Crozara) are already mobilized and are part of the teams working on the international mission.

In addition, the 12th Military Fire Brigade, from Patos de Minas, also confirmed the sending of two members: Lieutenant Renato Melo and Sergeant Lúcio Flávio, both specialists in search and rescue operations.
According to the battalion, the military will work on activities such as locating victims, shoring up structures, cutting and breaking materials, in addition to pre-hospital care and logistical support in areas affected by earthquakes.
The corporation also highlighted its pride in the professionals' participation in the international mission, reinforcing the commitment to protecting life and acting in emergency scenarios.
The mission is part of national mobilization
According to the Fire Department, in addition from Patos de Minas and Uberaba, there are soldiers from Barbacena, Belo Horizonte, Divinópolis, Governador Valadares, Juiz de Fora and Varginha.
The firefighters are part of specialized teams from the Environmental Emergency and Disaster Response Battalion (Bemad), the CBMMG's reference unit in large-scale incidents.
In addition to Minas Gerais, the Brazilian group has soldiers from São Paulo and Paraná. Boarding already took place on Sunday (28) on flights operated from Minas Gerais and São Paulo, with initial displacement by the Air Operations Battalion, in Belo Horizonte.

Action in a disaster scenario
The actions in Venezuela are mainly concentrated in areas affected by structural collapses, with the possibility of buried victims. The teams will work in an integrated manner with local authorities and international organizations.
Among the expected capabilities are technical search, rescue in collapsed structures, initial medical care, logistical support and coordination of field operations.
The CBMMG reported that the military continues with specific equipment for operations in high-risk environments, including cutting tools, lighting systems, shoring materials and load lifting devices.

The mission reinforces Brazil's humanitarian action in international disasters and CBMMG's experience in highly complex events, with a history of action in countries such as Haiti, Mozambique and Turkey.
According to the Fire Department, the work will be carried out in a coordinated manner with the federal agencies responsible for international cooperation, respecting the priorities established by the Venezuelan authorities.
