Firefighter dies during US strikes on Iran, says Iranian state media

A firefighter died during a US attack on the airport in the southeastern Iranian city of Iranshahr, Iranian media reported.

The attack damaged the airport's flight operations building and meteorological station, IRNA and Mehr news agency reported, citing the deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchistan province and the governor of Iranshahr city.

Earlier, CENTCOM (US Central Command) reported that the military was carrying out new attacks against Iran, hours after US President Donald Trump declared that the interim agreement to end the war with Iran had "ended".

In a post on the social network

"The United States holds Iran responsible for recent unwarranted aggression against commercial ships and civilian crews sailing freely in a vital international waterway," Central Command wrote.

Trump later warned Tehran that US retaliatory strikes "will get much worse" if the country continues to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

"This is retaliation for Iran's bomb attack on ships yesterday. If it happens again, it will be much worse!", said the American president in a post on the social network Truth Social.
