A small fire broke out on the Brooklyn Bridge, in New York, on Saturday night (4) during a fireworks show to celebrate the 4th of July holiday and the 250th anniversary of US independence. See the photo above.

The New York Fire Department confirmed the incident and stated that firefighters were on site to extinguish the flames.
"Fires like this are not unexpected and that is why we maintain a safe distance during a fireworks show," said the firefighters.
