In this World Cup, Corinthians only has Memphis Depay as the club's direct representative in the competition. In other words, this time there are no Brazilians who play for the Parque São Jorge club competing in the World Cup with the Brazilian team. However, historically Alvinegro has world champion athletes with Brazil.

In total, there are eight names who lifted the trophy in the biggest tournament in the world with the Seleção while still playing for Timão. Names like Ronaldo Fenômeno and Roberto Carlos are not included in the statistics, after all, they were World Cup champions in seasons where they were still playing in European football.

- Gilmar (1958): Absolute starting goalkeeper in Sweden, played for Corinthians since 1951.
- Oreco (1958): Reserve left-back for Nilton Santos, played for Alvinegro since 1957.
- Rivellino (1970): The "King of the Park" was a member of the historic 70's selection in Mexico.
- Ado (1970): Back-up goalkeeper for Félix, he had a great time in the Corinthians goal that year.
- Viola (1994): Back-up center forward in the United States, created by Timão's academy.
- Dida (2002): Back-up goalkeeper in Korea and Japan, was on loan to Corinthians from Milan.
- Vampeta (2002): Back-up midfielder, had returned to Parque São Jorge that same year.
- Ricardinho (2002): Midfielder called up at the last minute to replace the cut Emerson.

It was almost!

Constantly called up by Carlo Ancelotti in the months leading up to the 2026 World Cup, goalkeeper Hugo Souza was close to being called up for the tournament, however, in the final list he ended up being passed over by the Italian, who selected Alisson, Ederson and Weverton, precisely the trio that competed in the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Memphis on the field

Depay, Timão's representative in the Canadian, United States and Mexican Cups, will take to the field with the Dutch team this Sunday, at 5pm, in a clash against Japan. The game is valid for the first round of Group E, and will be played in Arlington, Texas.
