Film created and starring Anitta begins recording in June
Singer Anitta, 33, will star in a new romance film produced by Estúdios Globo. The production - which was created by the artist herself - marks the first time that the funk singer will be the main character in an audiovisual project.
Still untitled, the production is a dramatic romance whose protagonist, Nina (Anitta), leaves Rio de Janeiro and moves to a small town in the south of the country in search of a fresh start after the death of her grandmother. There, she meets Pedro (Kelner Macedo), with whom she ends up getting involved.
The cast will also feature names like Regina Casé, Valentina Herszage, Maria Gladys and Felipe Frazão. Recordings are scheduled to begin on June 1st. Produced by the Estúdios Globo Film Center, filming will take place outdoors and in the studio.
The direction will be by Fellipe Barbosa and the script is written by Juan Jullian, Renata Corrêa and Michel Carvalho. In an interview with Variety, the executive director of Estúdios Globo, Amauri Soares, stated that the idea came from the singer herself: "Anitta's film is a concrete example of our new approach: the original idea for the film came from Anitta herself. It was up to our screenwriters and production teams to develop and bring the project to life."
