Figueiredo says Flávio is right to repudiate his speech about women

Journalist Paulo Figueiredo said this Wednesday (1st), that Flávio Bolsonaro, pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PL, is right to repudiate his speech about women.

"My friend Flávio Bolsonaro did very well in publicly repudiating my speech. He is correct in doing so (although materially wrong on the subject)", he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"You are also correct in saying that I am not - and do not want to be - part of his campaign. I am a commentator who supports him as a voter. What he says is his problem and what I say is my problem," he added.

In the publication, the journalist made a point of reiterating his support for Flávio's pre-candidacy: "What is at stake is much bigger than specific differences. From my side, nothing changes and the support remains as enthusiastic as possible."

Last Monday, Figueiredo criticized former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) because of a video she published. In the approximately thirty-minute material, Michelle exposes a friction with Flávio Bolsonaro.

"Feminism is a movement with a postmodern Marxist matrix that carries with it ideas such as identity quotas. [...] the idea of having a quota for race, age, is absolutely incompatible with the right-wing movement. [...] When we see a president of the PL transform this into an identity discussion, it's screwed. It's precisely a Marxist ideology", criticized Figueiredo.

Soon after the journalist's speech, Flávio Bolsonaro himself repudiated the statements and said that the journalist was "completely wrong".

"I want to vehemently repudiate Paulo Figueiredo's speech about women. I don't agree with what he said. Completely wrong"

Flávio tried to distance himself from Figueiredo. "He is not part of our campaign."
