FIFA confirms Ramon Abatti Abel as fourth referee for Spain vs Belgium

FIFA announced, this Tuesday (7), the refereeing team that will lead the duel between Spain and Belgium, valid for the quarter-final stage of the World Cup. Brazilian Ramon Abatti Abel was selected for the confrontation.

Ramon will act as four referees in the game that takes place this Friday (10), at 4pm (Brasília time), at SoFi Stadium, in Los Angeles. Rafael Alves, also from Brazil, will be the reserve assistant.

The match officials for @FIFAWorldCup match 98 have been appointed.

In this World Cup, the 36-year-old judge took charge of two other matches: the 1-1 draw between Belgium and Egypt and Switzerland's 2-1 victory over Canada, both matches in the group stage of the competition.

Englishman Michael Oliver will be the main referee for the game between Spain and Belgium, assisted by Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring, also from England. He has already led three other matches in the current edition of the World Cup and was at the forefront of the Brazilian team's elimination to Croatia, in Qatar, in 2022.
