Fiat Strada and Volkswagen Polo lead the ranking of best-selling cars

The first half of 2026 closed with the Fiat Strada as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil. The data was released this Thursday (2) by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave).
The pickup reached the mark of 83,032 registrations and was well ahead of the vice-leader Volkswagen Polo. The hatch, in the first six months of the year, reached 54,091 units sold, and was followed by its 'brother' T-Cross, which had 48,048 registrations.

Sales in June
The order of the best sellers podium in June is the same as in the semester. The differences are that the Volkswagen Tera appears ahead of the Chevrolet Onix last month, but is behind in the accumulated result.
And, in the first six months of 2026, only the BYD Dolphin Mini appears as electrified in the list of the 10 best sellers. In June it appears behind the BYD Song.

Volkswagen Polo: 10,939 units;
Fiat Argo: 9,831 units;
Volkswagen Tera: 9,289 units;

Electric and hybrid cars gain ground
In the first half of the year, BYD leads as the darling in the hybrid and electric segments. In hybrid sales, it is followed by Toyota and GWM. Among electric vehicles, Geely and GM appear among the main competitors.
In the year to date, BYD maintains a significant leadership in the electric segment, with a 64.45% market share.
Between January and June 2026, 90,470 electric cars were registered in Brazil. An increase of 196% compared to the same period in 2025, when 30,534 electric vehicles were sold in the country.
Compared to the previous month, June 2026 showed an increase of 0.84% in registrations of 100% electric vehicles. Compared to the same month in 2025, the increase this year was 258%.
